Lawyer: Ex-Escanaba mayor remorseful over charge

ESCANABA, MI - A lawyer says the former mayor of Escanaba is very remorseful over allegations that he embezzled more than $100,000 from the local Eagles Club.

Jayne Mackowiak won't specifically say that Leo Evans plans to plead guilty in the Upper Peninsula's Delta County.
