New walleye regulations don't affect opening day turnout

WOODRUFF - The opening day of fishing season kept conservation officers busy Saturday. Workers say educating fishermen about changes to the walleye regulations was a major focus of the day.

On the Minocqua chain, there's a catch and release season for walleyes this year.

Conservation Officer Tim Ebert says catch and release has taken effect for most waters in the ceded territory.
