MARATHON COUNTY - One woman died after a car hit a pedestrian in Marathon County Saturday night.
The crash was on State Highway 97 north of Wuertzburg Road in the town of Johnson near Athens just before 9:00pm. The Marathon County Sheriff's Department said the driver was in their 30s. The victim was a middle aged woman.
When first responders arrived, they found the pedestrian suffered from fatal injuries. It's not known whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
