Police required to make arrests in certain domestic abuse cases

RHINELANDER - Between 2010 and 2012, the arrest rate for domestic abuse tripled in Oneida County. Some of the reasons why are unclear.

Lieutenant Lloyd Gauthier from the Oneida County Sheriff's Office doesn't know what exactly caused the increase. He thinks one reason might be that people are more willing to call the police when they see or hear domestic abuse.
