Board that helps fill sheriff's office, jail positions seeks applicants

VILAS COUNTY - The Vilas County Civil Service Commission works to hire the best people for jobs in the Sheriff's Office and Jail, but the commission is looking to fill an open position itself.

The commission was founded two years ago through an ordinance passed by the county board. Since then, it has helped to restart the sheriff's office's water patrol and created a chief detective position in the office.
