Candidates assert positions during 29th Senate race debate

WAUSAU - Moderators focused on education, jobs, voter ID and other topics during Tuesday's 29th State Senate District race in Wausau.

The 29th State Senate District covers places like Wausau, Medford and Hayward. The geographically large district impacts a number of economically diverse areas. Incumbent Jerry Petrowski (R-Marathon City) and challenger Paul DeMain (D-Hayward) are running for the seat.

Debates can turn into politically filled contests, but DeMain and Petrowski spent most of their time focusing on policy.
