Celebrating local history at Boom Lake Log Jam

RHINELANDER - It's not easy to cut through a piece of wood with a two person saw. But that's what lumberjacks used to build up Rhinelander's logging industry. Today, hundreds of people celebrated that hard work at the Boom Lake Log Jam in Hodag Park.

"It's really true to Rhinelander's roots," said Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce executive director Dana DeMet. "The city of Rhinelander wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the work of the lumberjacks."
