Deputy cleared in shooting at his Plover home

PORTAGE COUNTY - The Portage County sheriff's deputy who shot and killed an intruder at his home last May won't face any charges.

Portage County District Attorney Louis Molepske says he's determined Detective Tony Gischia acted in self-defense when he shot 30-year-old Charles Jameson at Gischia's Plover home.

Gischia was off duty when he returned home with his fiancee and encountered a man in black clothing.
