Mobility van will help seniors in Tomahawk area, group expecting growth & needs help

TOMAHAWK - The Tomahawk Area Interfaith Volunteers (TAIV) will use a new mobility van to help disabled and low income seniors in the area. The group's volunteers use their own cars to get seniors where they need to go.

Volunteers will still use those cars once they get the van because of high demand.

The van will serve a similar role to buses aging groups use to transport seniors across the Northwoods. The van can carry five people including two who use wheelchairs. Cindy Wescott volunteers in multiple rolls with the group. She's been heading the transportation committee. She says the group could use the van tomorrow.
