MANITOWOC - A Manitowoc woman is accused of beating and scalding her 5-year-old son who has Down syndrome.
Thirty-one-year-old Ruthann Gneiser is charged with child abuse.
According to the complaint, the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department received a call from medical staff at Aurora Medical Center Monday who said the boy had been brought to the center with heavy bruising on his back and scald burns.
