Recycling numbers up in state

MADISON - A lot of what goes in the trash could be put to a new use.

New numbers from the state Department of Natural Resources show state residents and businesses are stepping up their recycling efforts.

About 831,000 tons of paper products, food and beverage containers were recycled last year.
