MERRILL - Merrill wants to rebrand the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. The city will officially buy the fairgrounds from the county this fall and it wants to give the property a new name.
The reason for the name change is so people stop only associating the land with the fair.
"It's not just the fairgrounds," says Merrill Chamber of Commerce CEO Debbe Kinsey. "Many, many events are held there every year and we're hoping to hold many more in the future. We want it to become an event grounds or recreational grounds or something other than just the fairgrounds."
