MADISON - Thirty-three of 63 Assembly Republicans have sent a letter to Gov. Scott Walker and Senate GOP leaders saying they will not support cuts in transportation funding that aren't spread out equally across the state.
The letter signed by a majority of Assembly Republicans sent Monday comes as legislative leaders planned to meet privately again Monday afternoon to try and reach a deal on roads funding and other outstanding issues holding up passage of the budget.
Some Senate Republicans have said they want to protect some roads projects like the Zoo Interchange in Milwaukee from being delayed by a cut.
