Students learn how to build their own canoes

MERRILL - You might not be thinking of canoes or fishing yet, but some students at Prairie River Middle School in Merrill are. They found out that building your own canoe takes a lot of time and effort. “It’s the six hour canoe, but it feels like the 60 hour canoe," says Jack Bucknell, a student who built a canoe last year.
