Taking up archery

CONOVER - People take up new hobbies all the time. For some, archery is a great way to stay active--and it can become a lifelong hobby.

"This is a sport, like fishing or a lot of other ones, you can do it for your lifetime," says Adam Hickson, co-owner of Northern Waters Angling, Archery, & Apparel in Conover. "It's a lifetime sport that you're going to enjoy it whether you're 10 or whether you're 90. As long as you're able to, you will enjoy it."

The sport might be difficult at first, but anyone can pick it up.
