Two longtime WI Reps. focus on government changes & rise in partisanship

RHINELANDER - Two longtime Wisconsin Congressmen used their time in Rhinelander on Tuesday to discuss the changes and challenges with government. They also promoted civic involvement.

Retired Wisconsin Democratic Rep. Dave Obey and retired Wisconsin Republican Rep. Tom Petri both agreed that party differences in the U.S. House of Representatives have grown significantly in the last few decades.

Obey represented the 7th Congressional District, which covers most of northern Wisconsin, for 42 years. Petri represented the 6th Congressional District, which covers most of eastern Wisconsin, for 36 years.
