Wis. assembly to vote on eliminating office of treasurer

MADISON - The Assembly is scheduled to vote Tuesday on a constitutional amendment that could make Wisconsin one of five states that don't have a treasurer. Plans to abolish the secretary of state also have support in the Republican- controlled Legislature, but Republican Rep. Michael Schraa, of Oshkosh, says he wants to address the positions separately.
