High wind may have caused power line fires

NORTHWOODS - Firefighters blame high winds and falling trees for starting a number of power line fires in the Northwoods Thursday.

Downed power lines caused fires in Pelican Lake, Cassian, and Elcho.

The Pelican Lake Fire Department and the DNR responded to a fire Thursday afternoon on the corner of Highways G and 45.
