Hundreds Attend Mining Listening Session

ASHLAND - At least 200 people jammed into a hearing today in Ashland. They were there to tell legislators how they feel about streamlining the state's mining laws. Most of the attendees spoke Saturday against changing the state's permitting process. They say they're concerned about environmental damage that could take decades or longer to repair.
