Snyder cuts U.P. visit short, surveys Detroit flood damage from police helicopter

DETROIT - Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has surveyed flooded streets and neighborhoods across the Detroit area to assess damage caused by what he calls a ``record event of rain.''

In a video (http://bit.ly/1p2sl5Z ) from Oakland County International Airport in Waterford Township, Snyder says the Emergency Operations Center will help make assessments on whether federal assistance will be needed.
