RPD aims to raise money for two important programs by hosting bowling party

RHINELANDER - Just like human workers in their 50s or 60s, Drago will retire in the next few years. He's the Rhinelander Police Department's K-9 unit. Police will host a party to raise money to buy Drago's replacement, and help another important program.

"Drago's a dual-purpose K-9, certified in narcotics and patrol work," said Sgt. Angela Mertz of the Rhinelander Police Department.

Drago's been on the force for more than five years. He assists with 50 to 60 investigations each year. Those investigations aren't just in Rhinelander.
