SUPERIOR - Authorities are investigating the cause of a large fire at the city landfill in Superior.
It took fire crews about eight hours to extinguish the blaze. They finally left the scene just before 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
Battalion Chief Scott Gordon says they were able to stop the fire's spread before it could reach the nearby woods.
